1. Set up goals

Goal setting is very essential for learners because it motivates them and increase achievement levels, setting goals gives steps to follow so tasks are completed, this helps children spend time and energy on much more important things, goal setting also reduces procrastination and teaches a child organization, planning and time management for instance a short term goal can keep them motivated and determined to achieve their goals and can set long term goals as well. If a child seem uninterested in a certain subject or topic in school, they can improve by setting up a small goal to work toward , this will keep the child engaged in the classroom and it will encourage the child to think of new areas they can continue to improve, so children should set goals for themselves that they’d like to achieve at the end of the semester of  year.

2. Be Organized

Going back to school means that children have to fully prepare themselves mentally and physically, children returning back to school should be properly dressed in their school uniforms, girls hair should be neatly braid or well maintained and boys should get a clean haircut, not only is it important for children to look good but it’s very important that they feel good as well, they should be energized and healthy so it’s important to sleep early, wake up on time , eat healthy and do a few exercises to stay healthy and strong.

3. Backpack Safety

Choose a   backpack   w ith wide, padded shoulder straps and a padded back.  Organize your child's backpack to use all of its compartments. Pack heavier items closest to the centre of the back. The backpack should never weigh more than 10% to 20% of your child's body weight. Go through the pack with your child weekly, and remove unneeded items to keep it lite.

4. Eating during the school day.

Studies show that children who eat a nutritious breakfast function better. They do better in school, and have better concentration and more energy. Some schools provide breakfast for children; if yours does not, make sure they eat a breakfast that contains some protein. Most schools regularly send schedules of cafeteria menus home and/or have them posted on the school's website. With this advance information, you can plan on packing lunch on the days when the main course is one your child prefers not to eat. Many children qualify for free or reduced price food at school, including breakfast. The forms for these services can be completed at the school office. Hunger will affect a child's performance in class.

5. Use your time wisely

Time managment is an important life skill that thas an impact on everyone that is in school. Being able to know what to do with your time is very essential as a school learners, because it requires structure and organisation and how you manage your timr will determine your success in and out of the classroom.

6. Make a plan before going for shopping

Parents need to make a plan before shopping. This prevents them from over shopping and overbuying. Make a list of all the things that your child needs for school. Parents can get it from the child's class teacher. Teachers usually have a specific list of what the child needs in order for them to conduct lessons. Buying too many school items causes the learner to be overwhelmed and they are not sure of which items  to use specifically. 7. Traveling To And From School

Saving money is every parent's dream and so it is taking your children to school and back home. As a parent make sure that your child's road to school and back is safe, for better safety as a parent identify other children in the neighbourhood with whom your child can walk with to school.  for parents with children traveling to school by bike they should make sure that their children are good with traffic for example proper usage of hand signals, respect lights and stop signs and not to forget parents should make sure that their child wears a HELMET no matter how long or short the ride is to school and back. 8. A Homework And Study Habit Friendly Environment

Create an environment that is homework and study friendly starting at a young age, a place that is quiet, distraction free and promotes good studying habits. Strong rules like television and other electronic distractions stays off during homework and study time and supervision should be there for effective usage of time. Moreover, parents should always be available to assist and answer questions and if the child is struggling with a particular subject or topic the parent should speak or ask the teacher to help the child an extra mile. 9. Create a daily routine and stick to it

Time management is an important skill and so it is when it comes to best performance in school. Small acts like setting time for studying, dinning and all other things is essential because it allows one to keep track of their daily routines, without missing on any routine or spending more time on one thing. However effective time management enables children to become more confident, organized, learn more efficiently and they complete more in less time because they are often focused, and they are not wasting time on distractions.  A well-designed daily routine enables children to use their time effectively and they are always up to date and on time. T he period in which children and their parents purchase school supplies and prepare for the upcoming school year .  It is very important to take your children to a back to school shopping, it ensures that the children have all the school supplies that they need for school.
